In spring, white flowers with yellow centers look like poached eggs, and very attractive to pollinators. This West coast native annual reseeds prolifically, dead by the heat of summer, and germinating with the return of fall rains. Rosettes overwinter, smothering winter weeds. A strong winter wind can kill seedlings. Sun to part shade, prefers moist (even wet clay) soil.
