They are known as pillars of the agricultural and horticultural community through their on-site nursery and workshops. Cloud Mountain Farm Center’s Community-Led Workshop program kicked off in 2023, amplifying the skills and voices of community experts to widespread support and excitement. Cloud Mountain’s vision for these workshops was to provide folks with the opportunity to deepen their farm-based skills in a setting that was empowering, hands-on, and supportive.

Cloud Mountain proves fruit belongs west of the Cascades

On overcast days, Cloud Mountain Farm Center lives up to its name, with low-lying clouds abutting the 20-acre property at the foot of Sumas Mountain. But even on gray, late-summer mornings, color can easily be found at the farm that grows more than 75 varieties of organic fruit in its orchards and vineyards. Honeycrisp apples are ripening into shades of red and yellow, Lynden blue grapes are ready to be harvested, and a number of ornamental flowers in the outdoor nursery space are still putting out blooms.

They are known as pillars of the agricultural and horticultural community through their on-site nursery and workshops. Cloud Mountain’s fruit growing workshops have been a mainstay of their outreach program, earning loyal customers and glowing reviews for accessible, hands-on, empowering education. Although Cloud Mountain excels in fruit production education, over the past three years staff and board have noticed a local need for a diverse workshop series empowering the community to build farm-based skills in other areas.

Cloud Mountain Farm Center Wins Grant to Advance Agricultural Education in Whatcom County

Cloud Mountain Farm Center, a nonprofit farm and education center in Everson WA, is extremely excited to announce that they are the recipients of a collaborative Career Connect Washington (CCW) grant. This grant will enable them to pilot a new program called Agricultural Career Exploration in Whatcom (ACE-Whatcom).
