Purple Coneflower

Echinacea purpurea

Late-blooming purplish-pink daisy like flowers are held above stiff stems 2-4′. Easy to grow in average to poor soil with good drainage. Best in full sun, but will tolerate some shade. The seedheads persist well into winter, providing structure and food for foraging birds. Self-seeds lightly.

Hardy to zone 3
